file in use while patching. killed launcher. re-ran eve. launches and dies. Plan b. go find launcher. run that. Find short cut.
shortcut - C:\Games\EVE\launcher\launcher.exe /forcelauncher runfrom - C:\Users\SJ\AppData\Local\Temp\nswA1A7.tmp < Urm. NOT GOOD.
That needs fixing.
Yes, we are aware of this. This will be fixed.
SamuraiJack wrote: Patches with the launcher. WHY OH WHY the root of the game install? Surely the appdata\local\ccp\eve\patches dir would be more sensible and allow easier multi client patching using the launcher?
You can copy the patch file between game install folders, or use the patch import/export functionality. Then you won't have to do multiple downloads. |

Katrina Bekers wrote: ALL MY SETTINGS (options, overview, windows, window positions/sizes, shortcuts, neocom config, etc.) ARE GONE AGAIN.
...No, I don't want tutorials. Yes, please show me the session change timer. No, I don't want audio. Nor to auto-target back who targets me. And keep those pinned windows pinned, thanks. And the shortcuts - a godzillion of them - redo all by hand. And the intel channels. All of them. In the positions I want them, stacked appropriately...
It could happen that a new settings folder was created under %localappdata%\CCP\EVE
You could try to go in there and copy your old settings into the new folder which should fix this problem.

Sorry, some of us have already done that, myself included. Like you predicted, my offspring is incredibly dumb and doesn't even have the ability to speak, walk or crawl. So I guess you have a point there. |

Runtime Error!
Program: C:\users\....\Temp\nsb53cc.tmp\renamer.exe
R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the application's support team for more information. Try downloading the repair.exe from here: http://cdn1.eveonline.com/client_repair/344/repair.exe The copy that into your game folder and run it from there. |

Jaden Plymoth wrote:Ok, launched my client as usual. Started up, downlaoded the update, installed the launcher. The launcher did its thing, claimed to update my client. Cool. Clicked play. Client launched as normal the login screen. However, the client thinks its still running the previous version. Ok, maybe I missed something, launched the old patcher again, which relaunched the launcher, which in turn does nothing. It still says the client is up to date. Tried launching again. I'm stuck in one giant loop of redownloading the launcher and the launcher claiming my client is up to date. Other than being stuck in a loop up redowloading the launcher patch, everything is running normally. No crashes, no dumps, etc.
I tried running the repair tool, but the same thing keeps happening.
I'm on a very low bandwidth connection so I can't redownload the client installer and start fresh. OS is Windows 7 x64. Does this also happen if you go into your EVE directory and just start eve.exe directly? If so, then your shortcut file might be messed up and I'd suggest deleting it and recreating it.

Have you tried restarting the launcher? If that does not work, I suggest running the repair tool. |

Some clients seem to be getting permission errors when the Launcher is trying to update a file that the client uses. This has to do with the privileges on the Launcher. We are working on an update for the Launcher that we will deliver as soon as possible.
In the meantime, we suggest you try running the "Eve Online Launcher" shortcut as administrator (through right-click). If that doesn't work, try to use repair.exe to update your client. |
